“I Love My Daddy Week” Blog Recap!

Hello all,

“I Love My Daddy Week” was full of hard work, laughs, and a lot of love! In order to prepare the perfect gifts for the big celebration on Friday, the students worked diligently throughout the week to create the following – a hand-drawn mouse pad, a photograph Popsicle stick puzzle, and a personalized book page!  Read on below to learn all about what the students did throughout the week to show their appreciation for their Daddies!

The mouse pad factory opened up at the beginning of the week.  Using assorted permanent markers, the students created beautiful designs on the white mouse pads.  The teachers helped add a special note wishing the PPA Daddies the happiest of Father’s Days.  Here they are in action!

During the afternoons throughout “I Love My Daddy Week”, the students brainstormed lists relating to their Daddies and rehearsed a special musical Father’s Day Performance!  Here is one of the lists they created.

The second gift that the students created throughout this past week was a Two-sided Daddy and Me Popsicle stick Puzzle!  In order to create this amazing craft, the teachers assigned the PPA Mommies a Top-Secret Mission – find a photograph of the PPA student with Daddy and send it in to school without the Daddies finding out!  Fortunately, the Mommies of PPA accepted their mission and completed it beautifully!  Once the photos were in, the students got right to work!  With a little glue, some Popsicle sticks, and some paint, the photos were halfway to becoming a puzzle!  During after school, the teachers sliced the photographs very carefully at the Popsicle stick separations and wrapped the pieces together with a neat bow!  Take a look at this exciting gift below!

Toward the end of the week, the students completed the final part of the Father’s Day gifts – a page for the class “I Love My Daddy Because … Book”.  Below are some of the responses.

Before the students knew it, the Father’s Day Celebration had arrived!   Just like the Mother’s Day Celebration back in May, the Father’s Day Celebration began with a read aloud of the PPA student authored and illustrated book, “I Love My Daddy Because…”.  Needless to say, the book was a huge hit!  After hearing the story, the PPA Daddies were treated to a beautiful performance of a Father’s Day song.  The excitement continued to build as the students and Daddies headed to the tables and were greeted by an assortment of delicious treats!  As if the day was not sweet enough already, the students then presented the Daddies with their gifts!  As was expected, the mouse pads and puzzles were a huge hit!  What a wonderful day it was!

We hope the Park Prep Daddies enjoyed the celebration and their gifts! Thank you to all the PPA Daddies for being so great. You really are the best! Happy (early) Father’s Day!

-PPA
