“Letter Q is for Things that go QUICKLY” Week is Next!

Hello all,

Letter P is for Pirates, Princesses, Princes, and Pajamas Week was Phenomenal, Playful, Pleasant, Perfect and Priceless!  Read on below to learn about all the fun and learning that took place!

After spending Presidents’ Day at home on Monday, the students returned to school on Tuesday in their finest Letter P attire!  Whether dressed as a pirate, princess, prince,or police officer, the students were the picture of perfection!  Here are some of the highlights from Tuesdays outfits!

Despite having such a silly theme for the week, the students did not let it interfere with their hard work!  They worked diligently on their Letter P identification morning work on both Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

During the afternoon on Tuesday, the students created their first letter P word list of the week.  This list was quite easy to come up with – particularly because there were so many living and breathing letter P words walking and talking around the room!  Here is the list that they came up with.

The lists continued throughout the week, particularly during Spanish Class where the students reviewed the parts of the Cuerpo (body) vocabulary.  On both Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, the students created lists of things that they could do with each body part!  Here is Wednesday’s list coming up things to do with your Pies (Feet) along with some of the photographic highlights from Wednesday!

Because P week was a short week, Thursday marked the first craft day of the week!  The students turned ordinary paper bags into Pirate Puppets!  First they added some stripes to the pirate body because everyone knows that pirates like to wear stripes!

Next, the students added their pirates bandanna.

Of course, the students needed to add an eye patch for their pirate!

A few other pirate items transformed this paper bag into the Perfect Pirate Puppet!

Here is Thursday’s list of Things You Can Do With Your Manos (Hands!) that the students created in Spanish class along with some of the photo highlights from Pajama Day Thursday.

Friday was a very exciting day at PPA!  Not only was it another pajama day, it was also a Pizza Party lunch!  The students’ excitement only increased when they learned that they would be creating their very own Prince/Princess crowns!

Here are some of the highlights from Friday’s Pajama Day!

Finally, in what likely felt like months for the students, the pizza delivery arrived!  The students had to be reminded to use soap – not just wet – their hands before eating because they were in such a rush to get to the pizza!  Once the students had all found their seats, the pizza was distributed.  What do you think?  From the look of these photos, do you think the students enjoyed eating the pizza for lunch?

During the afternoon, the students were fitted in their crowns before they created a royal Letter P list and P word sentences – like the ones below.

Penelope the piglet plays at the playground in the park!

Peter Pan pops popcorn for Princess Pineapple!

The Pirate Prince painted a picture of Polly Pocket riding a pony!

(For those of you counting, that is 23 P’s!)

Well, that is all for letter P Week.  As always, thank you for reading.  Have a fun and safe weekend!
