Hello all,
I Love My Daddy Week was full of hard work, laughs, and a lot of love! In order to prepare the perfect gift for the big celebration on Friday, the students worked diligently throughout the week on their Father’s Day gifts – a hand-painted photo frame as well as a Daddy and Me Popsicle Stick Puzzle! Read on below to learn all about what the students did throughout the week to show their appreciation for their Daddies!
The PPA Daddy-Gift Factory opened up towards the end of last week and again on Monday and Tuesday as the students began painting and decorating the outside of their wooden picture frame. The frames were set aside to dry but the students kept on working! Each child posed beautifully for a photograph holding a sign reading, “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY DADDY! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!” Judging from the smiles in these photographs, it is clear that every student at PPA has a very special Daddy! Later on in the week, the students glued tiny pieces of colored plastic known as “sea glass” to help add another decorative touch to the outside of their frames. After a quick trip to print shop, Miss Jocelyn returned with the printed photographs and the students began stuffing their special frame! Here is how the final project came out!
During the afternoons throughout “I Love My Daddy Week”, the students brainstormed lists relating to their Daddies and rehearsed a musical Father’s Day Performance! On Monday, the students listed just some of reasons Why the PPA Daddies are so special. Here is the list they came up with.
The second gift that the students created throughout this past week was a Two-sided Daddy and Me Popsicle stick Puzzle! In order to create this amazing craft, the teacher assigned the PPA Mommies a Top-Secret Mission – find a photograph of the PPA student with Daddy and send it in to school without the Daddies finding out! Fortunately, the Mommies of PPA accepted their mission and completed it beautifully! Once the photos were in, the students got right to work! With a little glue, some Popsicle sticks, and some paint, the photos were halfway to becoming a puzzle! During after school, the teachers sliced the photographs very carefully at the Popsicle stick separations and wrapped the pieces together with a neat bow! Take a look at this exciting gift below!

Before the students knew it, the Father’s Day Celebration had arrived! Just like the Mother’s Day Celebration back in May, the Father’s Day Celebration began with a read aloud of the PPA student authored and illustrated book, “I Love My Daddy Because…”. Needless to say, the book was a huge hit! After hearing the story, the PPA Daddies were treated to a beautiful performance of the “Happy Father’s Day To YOU!” song. The excitement continued to build as the students and Daddies headed to the tables and were greeted by ice cream just waiting to be enjoyed! Each table was given assorted toppings including marshmallows, chocolate chips, whipped cream, gummy bears, Hersey’s chocolate syrup, rainbow sprinkles, and of course, cherries! The teachers began scooping the ice cream into the students’ and Daddies’ dishes and then the students added the toppings! The Father’s Day sundaes were MASSIVE, topped with toppings, sprinkled, and definitely enjoyed by all! As if the day was not sweet enough already, the students then presented the Daddies with their gifts! As was expected, the frames and puzzles were a huge hit! What a wonderful day it was!
We hope the Park Prep Daddies enjoyed the celebration and their sundaes! Thank you to all the Daddies for joining us and also for always being the best Dads around! Happy Father’s Day!
