Can you believe that the 2011 Park Prep Academy Summer Camp has come to a close! Before recapping the fun events of bubble week, let’s take a look back on some of the highlights from the entire summer camp!
The returning PPA students welcome their new camp friends by showing them the “ropes” and lend a helping hand at the start of camp in July!
First day of camp fireworks!
The students explore the new touchscreen computer station – a donation from the PPA Graduating Class of 2011!
The students learn about businesses in their community – particularly Rita’s Ice!
Community Helper Paramedic Tom Sheilds a.k.a. “EMT Tom” visits PPA and teaches the students about street safety!
The students practice “Stop, Drop, and Roll” with their Jersey City Firefighting Friends!

The students create some crafty parrots during Zoo Week!
Spiderman surprises the students as their Surprise Guest in July!
The students visit the well-known community hotspot, Goerhig’s Bakery and pick out a sweet treat!
The students ride the train at the Turtle Back Zoo!

The students feed the parakeets in the Bird Aviary at the Turtle Back Zoo!
The students have a blast playing outside during Outdoor Games/Field Day!
The students explore the Newark Museum and the Planetarium!
Despite being moved inside because of rain, the July PPA Family Picnic is still a success!
August Session of Camp kicks off with the arrival of ten caterpillars!
The students begin crafting butterflies in anticipation of the transformation!
The students get silly during CrAzY hAt DaY!

The students return to the Firehouse and even get to spray the hose!
The students meet Tug, the explosive-sniffing dog who helps all types of community helpers!

The students spend the day discussing STRANGER DANGER with Jersey City Police Officer, Lorenzo Tosado!

CrAzY oUtFiT dAy yields some CrAzY oUtFiTs!
The students explore the Newark Museum and Planetarium where they learn what Saturn’s Rings are actually made up of (Space dust, rocks, and ice!)
The students meet Ariel (and her friends!)
The students prepare to cook and bake during Cooking and Baking Week!
After a few weeks, the caterpillars have transformed into butterflies and are ready to be set free at the park!

Miss Caitlin returns to Park Prep Academy to help wrap up summer camp and prepare for the 2011-2012 school year!

Bubble Week and the 2011 Summer Camp ended with a big celebration! The PPA Family Pizza Picnic! The teachers, students and their families celebrated and had a blast!

Well, that is all for Bubble Week and the entire 2011 PPA Summer Camp! We at Park Prep Academy would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You to all of the amazing students and families that were a part of the 2011 PPA Summer Camp! What a special summer it was!
