Hello all,
“I Love My Daddy Week” was full of hard work, laughs, and a lot of love! In order to prepare the perfect gifts for the big celebration on Friday, the students worked diligently throughout the week to create the following – a hand-painted ceramic mug (or desk pencil holder), a homemade trail mix, and a personalized book page! Read on below to learn all about what the students did throughout the week to show their appreciation for their Daddies!
The mug factory opened up at the beginning of the week. Using assorted ceramic paints, the students created beautiful designs on the exterior of the ceramic mug. The teachers helped add a special note underneath the mug and popped them in the oven to set the paint. A few hours later, all the mugs were baked, cooled and ready for use! Here they are in action!
During the afternoons throughout “I Love My Daddy Week”, the students brainstormed lists relating to their Daddies and rehearsed a special musical Father’s Day Performance! Here is one of the lists they created.
By Wednesday and Thursday, the students began part two of their gifts – a Daddy-inspired Trail Mix! Each delicious ingredient was selected for a particular reason. Be sure to read the note at the bottom!
Toward the end of the week, the students completed the final part of the Father’s Day gifts – a page for the class “I Love My Daddy Because … Book”. Below are some of the responses.
Speaking of great books, not one but TWO PPA parents visited school this week to read stories to the class! A special PPA Thank You to the parents photographed below for spending the morning with us. We hope you had as much fun as we did! 🙂
Before the students knew it, the Father’s Day Celebration had arrived! Just like the Mother’s Day Celebration back in May, the Father’s Day Celebration began with a read aloud of the PPA student authored and illustrated book, “I Love My Daddy Because…”. Needless to say, the book was a huge hit! After hearing the story, the PPA Daddies were treated to a beautiful performance of a Father’s Day song. The excitement continued to build as the students and Daddies headed to the tables and were greeted by an assortment of delicious treats! As if the day was not sweet enough already, the students then presented the Daddies with their gifts! As was expected, the mugs/pencil holders and trail mix were a huge hit! What a wonderful day it was!
We hope the Park Prep Daddies enjoyed the celebration and their gifts! Thank you to all the PPA Daddies for being so great. You really are the best! Happy (early) Father’s Day!
-PPA
