Hello all,
“Letter B is for Blue Week” was By far the Best week of the 2017-2018 school year yet! The students entered school each day with a bountiful amount of Letter B shares! Everything from Ballet slippers, Bowling pins, Baby Bottles, and Baseballs was sent in and shared! There were Bulks of Letter B Books that came in as well! To help explore the letter B, the students also studied all about the color Blue! Well, “Letter B is for Blue Week” has come and gone. Read on below to discover the learning that took place and fun that was had throughout the week!
The students spent both Tuesday and Wednesday morning working one on one with the teachers to complete their Letter B tracing/identification/fine motor activity sheets. The teachers were so impressed with how easily the new students recognized the letter B and also how well the older students remembered all things “B” during their morning work! In the afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday, the students created the second letter list of the year! Naturally, the letter B list was a Big one! It was Basically Bursting! As a whole group, the students took turns brainstorming and contributing words that begin with the letter B!
How many B shares do you see?
Answer: Blocks, Bread, Banana, Badge, and B!
The art exploration of the letter B and the color Blue began on Thursday. The students created some BLUE-tiful artwork using both Dark and Light Blue paint! Here is how they turned out!
For morning work on Friday, the students created their very own Blue B’s with tissue paper colored… you guessed it, BLUE!
Thursday and Friday also were “Wear your BEST BLUE to School” days and the students did not disappoint! Even some of the parents got in on the fun! Way to go, PPA! 🙂
During the afternoon on both Thursday and Friday, the students participated in the second week of Spanish class. To begin the lesson, the students sang the “Hola Song,” of course, and then reviewed their Greetings vocabulary (see previous blog post for complete list of the Greetings vocabulary). After Spanish class wrapped up, the students enjoyed singing and dancing along to a very fitting and very BLUE-themed dance party! The dance party featuring hits such as: Elvis Presley’s Blue Suede Shoes, Eiffel 65’s Blue (Da Ba Dee), and more! Needless to say, the students (and teachers) had a Ball!
Well, that is all for “Letter B is for Blue Week”; it sure was a Blast! As always, thank you for reading and have a fun and safe weekend!
