Hello all,
“Science Exploration Week” has come and gone and boy, was it great! Read on below to learn all about the fun that was had and learning that took place!
The students arrived at school on Monday with a lot of enthusiasm and one thing on their mind –Friday’s Liberty Science Center field trip! Throughout the entire week, the students investigated various scientific questions throughout their morning stations! On Monday and Tuesday morning, the students headed out to the Water Park and Playground for some fun in the sun! Take a look below to see the students in action!
On Wednesday morning, the students created a list of possible visitors who might be the Special Guest! As was to be expected, Dancin’ the Magician, who had visited PPA in July was added to list! The students were all blown away when they learned just who the Mystery Guest actually was – Lisa the Clown! The students were dazzled by Lisa’s hilarious dancing performance; they even joined in! At the end of the day, the students each had an opportunity to get their face or hand painted! Be sure to take a look below to see the students and Lisa the Clown in action!

Seeing that it was Science Exploration Week, the students spent Thursday discussing the life cycle of a butterfly! With a little help from an Eric Carle classic, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the students learned all about each stage of the amazing transformation from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis (or cocoon) to butterfly! To help them remember what they learned, the students created the following art project – a fuzzy pom-pom caterpillar!
On Friday, the students hoped aboard the PPA school bus and headed to the Liberty Science Center! The students could hardly believe their eyes as they explored and investigated the various exhibits of the center including, but not limited to: Grossology, Our Hudson Home, Block City, Skyscrapers!, Eat and Be Eaten, and IExplore! Whether they were crawling through the digestive tract, constructing block cities, or just plain having fun, it was clear that the students LOVED their time at the LSC! Be sure to visit the link located at the bottom of this blog post to view all of the photos from Friday’s trip!
